Fire Pit Tables
Adding a touch of class to your backyard
Fire Pit tables are becoming more common as a piece of outdoor furniture, that adds a touch of luxury to your backyard or patio.
It also provides functionality as a table to host drinks around, and a fire pit to warm the surrounding area on those cooler evenings.
Can you cook on a fire pit table?
This is question often asked. If you choose a fire pit table that uses propane or natural gas as its fuel source then our recommendation, along with many manufacturers, is no.
The main reason is cooking fatty foods like hot dogs or steaks may see the fat dripping off and not only discoloring the larva rocks and causing them to smell, but if the fat gets into the gas jets it could nullify your warranty and result in an expensive repair.
However roasting marshmallows or s’mores is usually fine and many people do this without problems.
There are a few fire pit tables that are wood or charcoal fueled which are fine for cooking on like a BBQ grill. We have shown a few below using different fuels.
It can be used just as a table or an ice bucket, grill or fire pit. and at almost £200 from Amazon is excellent value for money
Other wood burning tables available may require the grill grate to be purchased separately.
Safety!
If you plan on using a fire pit table on a wooden deck then a propane or natural gas fuel source would be the best as there are no sparks to worry about. Wood burning or charcoal fire pit tables should only be used on a non flammable base such as patio tiles or concrete.
Distance from other structures?
With any fire pit it is advisable to make sure it is a good distance away for from the home or garage and contact with your local fire dept will advise you of any local regulations you may not be aware of.
How much do fire pit tables cost?
Fire Pit Tables range in price from budget pits at around $150, mid range pits around $500 and super luxury pits up in £1000’s.
